Urvil Thakor - I am a Student-At-Law with Torry Lewis Abells LLP since June of 2013. I was born and raised in Calgary and attended the University of Lethbridge where I received a B.A. in English in 2009. I then went to the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, spending my summers working at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, and graduated with a J.D. in 2013. As an articling student I’m able to balance working in multiple areas of law as I begin my career.
I’ve played drums for over ten years and have dabbled in other instruments in that time. I played in the U of A Law Show Band for three years, acting as the Assistant Director in my second year and Director in my third year, when I directed a band of 15 people. This band was part of a show that raised about $30,000 annually for different charities. I also played in the Law Show All-Stars Band, which performed at the Faculty of Law Centenary, and with multiple musicians for various charity shows in Alberta. I work to be an active member of my community by being involved in various organizations in Lethbridge.
